How did my business information get published?
WeZipCode.com licenses basic business data from a variety of third-party information providers (who collect this type of information from public records and other sources). We also get business information from members of our online community, who are willingly help us correct some of the info we have— or even let us know about a new service that just opened in their zip code. Please feel free to let us know if our information isn’t up to date! It is in YOUR best interest to do so!
Should I take legal action if someone writes a bad review?
It is not the policy of WeZipCode.com to offer legal advice. You can always consult an attorney near you for advice; but know that it is very common that any business will receive a bad review once in a while. If you ask any attorney about slander or libel suits, and they will tell you that such legal action is very expensive—not to mention difficult to win. Your business would more than likely be more adversely affected, as these suits tend to be made public…and are serious drains on your time and money. You should instead use all that time and energy to better your services: getting to the bottom of the situation, to find out what went wrong. Although it may certainly come as a surprise to you, your client might actually been in the right.
Can I have my business information deleted from WeZipCode.com?
WeZipCode.com will not remove your business listing, unless you have closed it. It is far better for your business to interact with your consumers, even if they do leave you an unsatisfactory review. It is a far better practice to listen to your clients, who are your best critics.
Why is my information listed incorrectly?
We apologize if you find that your business information is incorrect. We can assure you that we are working hard to adapt our system to remove outdated and incorrect listings. However, this is a slow, meticulous process.

How do I select the category that best describes who we are and what my business does?
On the home page of WeZipCode.com, you will see various icons, listing our community's main categories. When you click on an icon that best describes your business, you will see a list of sub-categories. These sub-categories will allow you to list your business more specifically. Choose the one that again best describes your business or services in greater detail.
The more specific you are, the easier it is to find YOU when a customer searches for what THEY want.

How can I check if my business is already listed?
If you are a new user of WeZipcode.com and you want to find out if your business is already listed on the site the process is very simple. On the home page type your business name in the keyword section and your business will come out if listed. You may also want to expand your search to neighboring zip codes, just in case the address for your business is incorrect. The information posted on our site is gathered from a combination of publicly available sources and licensed databases. To ensure this information is accurate, we encourage businesses to go online and add more details about their business. We want you to personalize your information, because these extra details give consumers the information they need to choose the right company to meet their needs, and to provide the best service in (or nearby) their zip codes.
Once you find your business listing, select the blue button Claim This Business, fill out the form and send it to us. One of our highly-trained and courteous customer service representatives will contact you very soon.

How do I market my business?
Tell your customers—and potential customers—why they should use your services. This will allow you to stand out from the competition.
Your profile is where the consumers find out about YOU, so take some time to think about your business and services, and tell them YOUR story.
Think about writing your marketing description like you were telling a story. Use your marketing description to describe how your services can save your customers aggravation, time and money; not to mention the added comfort and convenience. Explain to them that they can receive a discount, just for living in the same area where your business is located. —for example, if you are in Miami Beach, you can offer a discount for residents in the 33139, 33140, and 33141 areas.
Uploading Photos and Video in your profile page

When selecting photos to upload, here are some things to keep in mind:
Before-and-After shots are a very effective way to show your customers the difference YOUR work can make.
Share photos of yourself and your team. This allows you to put a “face” on your business.
Include photos of your office, workshop, trucks, and so on, to let them see what you can do for THEM!
Customers are always interested in seeing how you do what you do, so show them pictures of the equipment you use, and “action photos” of your company using them.
Your photos will appear on our “business photos” page, as well as on your profile.
How to upload and edit your photos:
Log in to your Business Center, and go to the section called “Your Picture Album”.
Click the “Browse” button next to Photo 1, and select a photo that is saved on your computer. Repeat this step for all photos you wish to add.
Click “Upload” at the bottom of the page to see a thumbnail appear in each photo box (this may take a moment).
At this point, you have the option to rotate or delete your image.
When upload is complete, click the “Continue” button at the bottom of the page.
a. The photo file size cannot exceed two megabytes (2MB).
b. Photos exceeding the maximum dimensions of 640 x 480 pixels will be resized automatically to fit within those dimensions. Photos larger than 1000 x 1000 pixels cannot be accepted, and must be resized prior to submission.
c. Photos must be in .GIF, .JPG or .BMP formats.
In the “Picture Album” section, you may also add captions, to describe your photos.
Click on the “Preview Profile” tab at the top of the page to view the results.
Uploading my Videos
Including a video can help you add dimension to your profile, allowing you to make a personal connection with potential customers. Show employees in action, or have your customers give a video testimonial. If you don’t have professional equipment, use video from a cell phone or handheld video camera (just as long as it truly represents your company, and what you do!). You can even use a TV commercial that was produced for your business. If you are a realtor, use your listings videos. If you are a Construction company, you can show videos of the work you have performed. Just be certain to update your videos frequently, in order to keep your content fresh.
